Wiggin Auditorium, Peabody City Hall. 24 Lowell Street, Peabody, MA 01960
The Frank L Wiggin Auditorium located on the mezzanine level of Peabody’s City Hall was constructed in 1883 and simply referred to as the “Opera House” It was the premier grand performance venue, hosting many of the region’s orchestral and theatrical performances in Eastern Essex County.

Also home to the city’s council and administration, the Auditorium was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972. In 2017, the City of Peabody received a generous grant which allowed for it to remain a majestic empire brick and granite structure with a full interior makeover and ceiling renovation in the Auditorium, restoring it to its original grandeur.

Today at 136 years old, the Auditorium stands tall and beautiful with original works, ceiling art, chandeliers and stage welcoming up to 600 guests for both theatrical performances and private rental, an entertainment destination in Peabody Square and on the North Shore.
