The Salem Holiday Market is a annual indie craft show in the heart of downtown historic Salem MA, featuring over 90 of the best local and regional designers and artists from New England. The Salem Holiday Market will be held at the beautifully historic Old Town Hall with two floors of handmade and artisan goods. 

Salem Old Town Hall is a beautiful federal style building located in the heart of downtown historic Salem, Massachusetts. Nestled between the Essex Street pedestrian mall and cobblestoned Front Street, the Old Town Hall is the crowning jewel of Derby Square and the earliest surviving municipal structure in Salem (dating from 1816-17). The venue is a two-story, brick structure featuring Palladian windows, carved wood details, antique chandeliers, decorative columns and wooden floors. Vendor Selection: 
All vendors are reviewed for accep­tance by New England Open Markets. It is our goal to have a wide vari­ety of prod­ucts by artists and makers. Considerations include: quality, innovation and uniqueness of the wares; overall cohesiveness and consistency of your work; how your items are represented in your photos; and the need to diversify categories presented. We accept all types of art and handmade crafts. Exceptions are made for a select few who offer exceptional fair trade/imported goods. We are currently accepting only 2-day reservations.

Upon acceptance you will be sent an email with your reservation and a link to our payment page. Our preferred method of payment is through the Payment Page on our website. All payments are due upon acceptance.

Setup/Booth Assignments:    
On December 1st all vendors will be sent a detailed setup email with load-in times, space assignments and parking instructions. Space assignments are at the sole discretion of NEOM, assignments are non-negotiable. Vendors must be ready for customers by 10:30 a.m. Vendors are responsible supplying and setting up their own displays, booth signage, booth decorations, table and chairs. Vendors are required to remain open for business until closing time. Early breakdowns and departures are strictly forbidden. Vendors are required to clean up their assigned booth areas at the conclusion of each day. All trash must be disposed of properly.

Vendors may leave their booths and displays setup overnight. Old Town Hall is a secured building with 24-hour security; however, we are not responsible for loss of any kind.  

The entire space is generously covered in very bright overhead lighting. We cannot guarantee the usage of electricity to vendors, please plan accordingly.

Aesthetic Guidelines:
All vendors are required to display their booths in a professional manner:

  • Your must display your Business Name/Logo at your table

  • Floor length table cloths are required for all display tables

  • Additional stock and boxes must be kept hidden under your display

  • Rented space must be kept tidy during operating hours, your goods/displays must not extend outside of your 6x4.5 area

Tax ID Certificates:
Tax ID Numbers are required in Massachusetts. All Exhibitors must be in compliance with State & Federal Tax Laws. This is required for both in state and out of state vendors. You can obtain one online in a few minutes at no cost. Click HERE to register with the Massachusetts Department of Revenue.

Health and License Requirements: Food Vendors Only*
If accepted, each vendor will be required to obtain a Salem Board of Health Temporary Food Service Permit. In order to obtain the temporary health permit you must email us the following documents after submitting your application below:

  1. Temporary Food Permit

  2. Serve Safe Documentation

  3. License from certified inspected kitchen/commissary

Cancellation Policy:
We do not offer credits or refunds of any kind for the Salem Holiday Market. Once you cancel, you forfeit your fee and spot in the market. Vendors are not permitted to sell or trade your space.

Code of Conduct:
In order to ensure the quality and enjoyment of the market and to promote a safe and positive atmosphere, all vendors involved with the market shall abide by the following Code of Conduct.

  • All persons shall act with respect toward other persons, their privacy and safety.

  • Physical or verbal abuse to fellow vendors, costumers or market management of any kind will not be tolerated.

  • All persons shall treat public and private property and equipment with respect.

Please report any activity that is deemed inappropriate to our on-site managers. Any violation of the Code of Conduct by a vendor will result in the immediate removal from the markets without refund. NE Open Markets owners, landlords, man­agers and pro­mot­ers reserve the right to restrict or ter­mi­nate any vendor’s activ­ity which, in their opin­ion, is disruptive, slanderous, inap­pro­pri­ate or is detri­men­tal to the qual­ity of the event as a whole. In the event of any restric­tions or evic­tions, NE Open Markets and its affil­i­ates will not be liable for any refund of rental or other expenses.

NE Open Markets, LLC reserves the right to enforce and/or interpret the Rules and Regulations and make final judgment without exception. Exhibitors agree to comply with show policies, Rules & Regulations as stated herein. NE Open Markets, LLC reserves the right to restrict, modify guidelines or expel without refund any exhibit that it deems undesirable or in non-compliance.

Vendors are recommended to have their own general liability insurance. The producer, vendor, vendor employee is solely responsible for damages resulting from the sale of unsafe or unsound goods, in addition to any accidents occurred while at the Salem Holiday Market. He/she agrees to indemnify and hold harmless NE Open Markets LLC, City of Salem, its affiliates, employees, agents from any and all liability, loss or damages which may be incurred as a result of all claims, demands, costs, judgments or expenses, including attorney’s fees, arising from the producer’s participation in the Salem Holiday Market.
