BOSTON OPEN MARKET POLICIES

PAYMENT POLICY

Please pay for each market date three weeks ahead of the market date. We do not offer refunds as there are a variety of costs that go into running the market that are paid ahead of time.

REFUND POLICY

NE Open Market does not provide refunds for cancellations. If you need to cancel a paid reservation, see cancellation policy. See Weather Policy for information regarding weather based cancellation.

CANCELLATION POLICY

We acknowledge that unforeseen circumstances can arise, leading to the need for canceling your market reservation.

If you cancel a PAID market date three weeks in advance:

We can put you on a waitlist for a future market where your payment will be applied. Please email us TWO possible market dates, and we will add you to the waitlist for those dates. If you are unable to attend your waitlist dates, your payment will be forfeited. Participation in a waitlist date is not guaranteed, but we will try our best to accommodate.

If you cancel an UNPAID market date three weeks in advance:

As a courtesy, please email us ASAP to let us know so we can release your spot to a vendor on the waitlist.

If you cancel a paid market date less than three weeks in advance:

Your payment will be forfeited. As a courtesy, please email us ASAP to let us know so we can release your spot to a vendor on the waitlist.

WEATHER POLICY

NEOM outdoor markets operate as a rain or shine market. By opting to participate in a rain or shine market, vendors acknowledge and accept all risks associated with unfavorable weather conditions. In the event of NEOM cancelling a market due to severe weather, vendors will be issued a credit that can be applied to a future market date within the current 2026 season. Please note that these credits are not transferable to the following calendar year and must be utilized within the 2026 Boston Open Market season.

BOOTH GUIDELINES

Tent and Tent Weights

  • 40lb weight per tent leg minimum, with weights facing in towards your space.

  • We strongly recommend that vendors use sandbag tent weights.

  • NO cinder blocks, bricks, water jugs, or single sandbags. Barbells are ok, but they cannot extend outside your space.

  • If you do not have 40lbs of weight on each tent leg, we cannot allow you to set up your tent due to the safety hazards posed by an underweighted tent.

  • Only sturdy tents with white canopies are permitted.

Tent Walls

  • Non-mesh tent walls are not allowed under any circumstances except during active significant rainfall, as they pose both a fire and safety hazard by increasing the risk of tents becoming airborne.

  • Any solid walls that are seen billowing into neighboring spaces, obstructing a vendor’s visibility from the street, or causing your tent to shift in the wind must be taken down immediately.

  • Failure to comply with a request to remove them will result in being asked to break down and leave the market.

Booth Space

  • Nothing can extend outside of your booth space - including your displays, tent weights, chairs, tables, and signage.

  • If a staff member instructs you to move something inside your 10x10 space, please do so.

  • Vendors must bring their own setup materials, including tables, chairs and weights

Tidiness

  • Vendors must keep their spaces tidy with excess stock and supplies hidden.

  • Floor length tablecloths for display tables

  • Dispose of any trash at the end of the market.

Booth Rugs/Mats

  • Please be advised that certain spots may have a small portion that extends into mulch and tree areas.

  • While not required, we strongly recommend bringing or purchasing outdoor mats or rugs for your space to ensure the cleanliness and safety of the surrounding environment.

BOOTH SHARING

Sharing a booth with another vendor or vendors is not allowed unless permission is granted by NE Open Markets (NEOM) in advance.

TAX ID CERTIFICATES

Tax ID Numbers are required in Massachusetts. All Exhibitors must be in compliance with State & Federal Tax Laws and display Tax ID Certificate in booth. This is required for both in state and out of state vendors. If you do not have a tax id certificate, you can obtain one online in a few minutes at no cost. Click HERE to register with the Massachusetts Department of Revenue.

SETUP EMAILS

Before each scheduled market, vendors will receive a setup email on Friday. This email will provide you with specific details regarding your space assignment, setup time, and any special instructions or market requirements. It is essential for all vendors to thoroughly review this information and arrive at their designated setup time to ensure a smooth and efficient process, minimizing any potential delays or disruptions. Our team will be available to assist you with any questions or concerns that may arise during the setup. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us maintain a positive and well-organized market environment.

CODE OF CONDUCT

In order to ensure the quality and enjoyment of the market and to promote a safe and positive atmosphere, we ask that all vendors act in accordance to the following:

  • Act with respect toward other persons, their privacy and safety.

  • Physical or verbal abuse to fellow vendors, customers or market management of any kind will not be tolerated.

  • All persons shall treat public and private property and equipment with respect.

Please report any activity that is deemed inappropriate to our on-site managers. Any violation of the Code of Conduct by a vendor will result in the immediate removal from the markets without refund. NE Open Markets, LLC owners, landlords, managers and promoters reserve the right to restrict or terminate any vendor’s activity which, in their opinion, is disruptive, slanderous, inappropriate or is detrimental to the quality of the event as a whole.
