The last outdoor market of the season lands on Halloween. Artists, makers, designers and vintage dealers take over the Boston Open Market on Boylston Street — in costume — for one afternoon of shopping, treats and our 23rd annual costume contest.

What you'll find
Fifty-plus vendors, all dressed up
Every booth on Boylston Street is a small business you can't find at the mall, and on Halloween every one of them is in costume. Come for the last chance to shop the season outdoors, stay for the treats.
Artists
Original prints, paintings, illustration and photography from local studios.
Makers
Ceramics, candles, soap, textiles, woodwork and small-batch goods, all handmade.
Designers
Jewelry, apparel and accessories from independent labels.
Vintage
Curated dealers with clothing, home goods and oddities from every decade.
2026 theme: Vintage Halloween
Come cheer on your favorites
Our vendors go all out for this one. Every booth on Boylston Street is in costume, and this year's theme is vintage Halloween — black cats, crescent moons, paper jack-o'-lanterns, anything that looks like it came out of a 1950s five-and-dime. Walk the market, pick your favorites, and cheer them on.
- Vendors only — but shoppers are welcome to dress up too.
- Judging happens at the market in the afternoon; the time and winners will be posted on Instagram.
- Twenty-three years running, since our first Halloween market in 2003.

Good to know
The basics
- When: Saturday, October 31, 12 to 5 PM. Rain or shine.
- Where: Boylston Street between Arlington and Charles Streets, at the Public Garden entrance.
- Admission: Free and open to the public.
- Payment: Most vendors take cards and mobile pay; some are cash-only, so bring a little of both.
- Dogs: Welcome on leash. Costumes encouraged.
Halloween extras
- Trick or treat: Kids in costume can trick-or-treat booth to booth. Look for the pumpkin sign at participating vendors.
- Vendor costume contest: Shoppers don't compete, but come in costume anyway and cheer on your favorite booth.
- Last market of 2026: This is the final Boston Open Market of the season. Next stop: our indoor holiday markets in Plymouth, Worcester, Cohasset, Salem and Boston.
- Accessibility: The market runs along a paved sidewalk and is wheelchair and stroller accessible.

Getting there
By MBTA
- Green Line, Arlington: Corner of Arlington and Boylston, directly across from the market.
- Red Line, Park Street: Head south on Tremont about a quarter mile, then right on Boylston.
- Orange Line, Tufts Medical Center: North on Washington, left on Stuart, right on Charles, north to Boylston.
By car
- Boston Common Garage: Zero Charles Street, a 4-minute walk.
- City Place Garage: 8 Park Plaza, a 5-minute walk.
- Street parking on Boylston is limited on Saturdays; the garages are the safe bet.
